One of my daughter’s called this weekend with a question. Her apartment smelt stuffy and the air smelled over used from this long winter . She did not want to add chemicals to her home to “clean ” the air and wondered if there was a more natural and healthier way to freshen up for spring. I do not use any chemicals in my house and referred to my list of natural products that have been the workhorse of clean homes for a long. long time . Got Compost?

Hooray ! Spring may actually be coming soon. It is time to clear the cobwebs from our tired winter brains and embrace the coming renewal. We now have compost bins available for sale at Town Hall through Infinity Recycling.

The cost of these bins is incredibly low and so easy to use. You can stop by at Town Hall to see one in our lobby. I am attaching a list of things that can be composted and I think you will be amazed at it’s comprehension.

I KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT GARDENING AND RELY COMPLETELY ON CHESTERTOWN FARM MARKET AND COLCHESTER FARM. HOWEVER, I THINK THIS YEAR I AM GOING TO

TRY AND BE A LITTLE EARTHY AND START A SMALL GARDEN. LOOKING AROUND MY WINTER BEATEN BACKYARD I NOTICED A LARGE NUMBER OF UNUSED POTS FOR PLANTS. FOR ME ACQUIRING POTS IS LIKE ACQUIRING PURSES FOR OTHERS. SO I THINK , FOR ME, CONTAINER GARDENING IS THE WAY TO START. I WILL NOT HAVE TOO MUCH INVESTED EMOTIONALLY OR FINANCIALLY AND IF ALL FAILS , I STILL HAVE THE FARM MARKET. I WORK REALLY HARD TO CUT BACK ON UNNECESSARY PAPER AND RELATED PRODUCTS.

FOR INSTANCE INSTEAD OF USING A PAPER NAPKIN I USE A CLOTH ONE. MUCH MORE ATTRACTIVE AND AND EASIER ON TREES. EVEN WITH ALL THE CARE I GIVE IN CUTTING BACK ON THE AMOUNT OF PAPER COMING INTO MY HOUSE , I RECEIVE NO CATALOGUES EXCEPT FOR ROGUE ONES THAT OCCASIONALLY APPEAR, I STILL RECYCLE ALOT OF PAPER EACH WEEK. NOW THANKS TO THE US POSTAL SERVICE THE AMOUNT OF JUNK COMING TO MY HOUSE IS GOING TO GREATLY INCREASE. HOWEVER, THANKS TO THE LINK BELOW THERE ARE WAYS TO OPT OUT OF THE NEW DELUGE OF PAPER. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO SAY NO TO THE UNWANTED INTRUSION OF MORE PAPER INTO YOUR HOME OR OFFICE.

Natural Remedies For All That Ails You!

So far this has been the winter from hell for me in the health area. I have picked up every bug that has wandered through Chestertown.

I am reluctant to take unnecessary antibiotics and my doctor concurs. So what to do ?

We cannot continue to hide our collective heads in the sand and pretend that we will have a future where energy is cheap and abundant.

If the United States is going to continue to be a world power we must look at the future straight in the eye and honestly and accept that we must
